It now seems likely that the bridge at Lower Lee (both routes at six miles)WILL BE OPEN to traffic on the day. If it is closed there will be a sign posted diversion that takes you DOWN Abbeystead Lane, through Abbeystead Village and then UP a 1 in 5 to rejoin the route. CAUTION on Abbeystead Lane. You have to Give Way to join Abbeystead Road after about a mile of descending. Take care.
